A Tale of Miki

Hubby and I have a very special dog. She was born in 14th October 2007. Her name is Miki, but we like to call her Miki-chan (chan in Japanese means girl). She is a chi hua hua and currently weighs 2.25kg. We treat Miki as a part of our family and she's the apple in our eyes. That's a photo of her wearing her bumble bee shirt. She's just too adorable.

This is our Miki. She is always alert, with her pointy ears, big black eyes and always running around wanting to play with us. As you can see in the picture below, she likes to watch and 'participate' in our daily activities. She loves to play with her toys (currently she has 3 toys, named Spotty (toy dog), an Alien (handmade by me), and blue Ele (a blue elephant)). In most days when she is not distracted by food, she can give the toy we asked for. Aren't she a clever girl? (^_^) heh heh....

Her favorite past time is to 'munch' on her toy Alien. But her favorite toy to play fetch with is Spotty. Whenever we are available, she will grab her Spotty and put it in our hands. Miki also likes to bring Spotty with her mouth when she walks around the house. Unfortunately, she will left Spotty behind in some hidden places and later on, the three of us have to go and hunt for Spotty.

This is a recent photo of Miki-chan trying to jump and catch blue Ele.

Just like any chi hua hua, Miki has shorter "hyperactivity" time compared to other bigger size dogs. Usually, she spends her time taking short naps and after fully re-charged her energy, she likes to play fetch. She also loves running around hunting for ants and bugs. She likes to bark at ants and try to frighten them (I guess, with her small size, there's only a very few things that's scared of her) ha ha...

Miki yawned when I tried to take pictures of her with her Minnie Mouse kimono on. =_=''

When she sleeps like this, it means she is sleeping soundly and is dreaming sweet dreams. ~_~
Previously, we put plastic garden gates to block her from coming out when we are having our dinner. She will cry while trying to pull open the gates with her little feet. Of course, it is not easy to open!! But, after many times of trials and errors, she figured out how to open the gates. She picked it up from me, when I unfastened the gates to let her out.

This is the gates we used previously to keep her inside our bathroom. Obviously, she figured out how to open it. Now, we just let her run around in the house unless we have guests.

People often commented that chi hua hua is born to be a picky-eater but our Miki loves FOOD! She goes crazy when she hears her steel plate makes "cling" sounds. She runs in circle when I open the container's lid to take a treat for her. She sniffs continuously for any 'leftovers' dropped on the floor and in her bed. Miki will never leave behind a single biscuit crust, not even a single rice will stick in her plate. She licks her plate cleanly after every meal I gave her.

Miki's treats flew all the way from Singapore. Notice how long Miki's tongue? ha ha ha ha....

And here's some photos of her doing her favorite things.

Miki likes to keep her feet clean. When she was 4 month old, I accidentally cut too deep into her nails. Since then, she is scared of nail cutting. She rather bites her own nails rather than letting me do nail cutting for her. That is why she has ugly toe nails.

This is Miki in her bed. We put this bed inside our bedroom so that she can sleep with us. She loves jumping in and out of her bed, enjoying her treats inside her bed, and most of all, she likes to day dream in her bed.

Yup, this is Miki-chan. Not a moo-moo cow. I like to dress her up in different clothes when the weather is cold.

She loves to feel warm especially on rainy days.

Miki is important to us. But we are even more important in her heart. We are all  she got! We are her family and also her friends!  When we went abroad for holiday trips, she will be left with my family-in-law. She refused to eat while we are away and according to mom-in-law, she will sit next to the door all day and wait for our return. Whenever she sees that I fill clothes into the luggage bags, she will jump inside and sit still on my clothes. I guess, she did know we are leaving her for a short while.

Every time when we come back from holiday, she will wag her tail, jump, dance and give us her big kisses. We will kiss her back, hug her and most of all, will feed her. Her life resume back to normal!! =D

A dog is always loyal and never betray our sincerity and kindness.

Miki will always be there for us!and we will love her always!

He was gone

On Father's Day this year, a family has lost their father. He was my uncle. He lost in the battle of illness & peacefully left this world at about 3:30 a.m. dawn.

I will always pray for you & your family. For some reasons, I will not be able to attend his funeral, but I believed that my uncle will understand & forgive me.

I LOVE YOU, UNCLE! I WILL NEVER EVER FORGET YOUR SMILES, YOUR LAUGHTERS & YOUR VOICE CALLING MY BABY NAME..

May You Rest In Peace. I Love you, uncle~

A Poem in my mind:

Dear Uncle

I love you, uncle
May you at last find peace in the other world,
Far away from all the existing difficulties in life,
Peace in the eternal life.

I miss you, uncle
I shed quiet tears when I think of all the time,
You had spent with me,
When I was a child, you gave me cuddles,
When I was a teenager, you gave me sound advices,
You will always be on my mind.

See you again, uncle
When time comes,
May we be allowed to meet again,
So that I can give you the HUG I owed you,
and Blew a Kiss on your left cheek,
telling you that at last,
"Everything is fine!"

Dedicate to my dear uncle, may his soul rest in peace.

I am Sad

I wanted to share a story with you. I've a lovely uncle. In fact, he is my mom's eldest brother. He lives in KK with his family. When I was younger, I used to stay and spent my holidays with his family. He is a very kind man. He always spent me food and brings me around in his Flowers Delivery Van. I still remember it is white in color.
He always has a big big cheerful smile on his face. Although he has a balding head, he always has his laughters with him. He called me by my baby name. We even visited him and aunty during Chinese New Year. He looks just fine... his old self, wearing a white singlet, balding head & smiley face welcoming us with drinks, mandarin oranges and Astro TV.

That is my uncle in the picture. Can you feel his friendly smile?

BUT.... everything changed, about a month ago. He was admitted into ICU for Lung disease. He is a diabetic and is under heart medication too. He was moved to normal ward after his condition become stable.

HOWEVER....
Today, at about 4:50 p.m., my big sis called and delivered some news to me. She told me that she just visited my uncle in the hospital. Doctor said, he will not be going to KL for his heart surgery anymore.

I asked WHY?

She told me,
"Aunty told me the doctor informed that his situation has worsened since Thursday night. All his main organs are destroyed. He is back in ICU now"

I only can answer "HAH"? What you mean??
"Mom said he is recovering. Doctor said he will be sent to KL by end of June for the heart bypass surgery.IS IT TRUE?"

Sis pass the phone to Mom. Mom then told me,
"Doctor informed aunty to ask all his sons & daughters to come back to be with him. Doctor said he does NOT need to go to KL anymore. He is in ICU now. He is weak but wide awake. He knows who visited him and keep saying Thank you, I appreciate it... in a weak voice. He needs an oxygen mask to help him breathe."

I was too shocked to even utter a sentence. I only can repeat,
"IS THIS TRUE?" My mind replays all the happy memories spent with my uncle. I was afraid to ask THE question. "HOW LONG?"

Mom said the doctor did not give an exact date, but the condition does not seem to help uncle to cope. We are all by his side... but in my mind, i was shouting "I WANT TO SEE HIM NOW".

But realistically, I asked myself, what can I do if I am in KK now? I am not a GOD, I am not a doctor. I even don't dare to shed a tear if I saw him in ICU, but I still wanted to see him. I wanted to give him a HUG.

I was crying when I heard mom talked about all her previous conversations with uncle, when he was still stable.

I just could cry and close my eyes tight. I am not sure to which God I should pray to. I just hope GOD can do a miracle. The Buddha, please give strength and save my uncle. To Jesus Christ, please help him to come over this pain.....

Can someone please tell me that "Everything will be OK"!

This is a little gift from my uncle & aunty when I visited them during Chinese New Year. I will always keep this lovely summer hat with me always.

Take Care, Be Strong & I Love You, Uncle!

Mother's Day Dinner

**Happy Mother - In - Law Day**

Time flies! I've been married for almost 9 months now. Living with in-laws are not always easy. Building a new relationship, feeling the respect, love and accepting each other's value and perceptions are something we all struggle with in our life.

There are many things to learn from when you live under one roof with others, especially elderly. I became much more patient, tolerable and mature. At the same time, I tried to bite my lips when I want to voice my own opinions on how youngsters think of some situations. I am learning to be a good wife and a good daughter-in-law all at the same time.

So, on last May Mother's Day, hubby and I planned a home-made "Kenny Roger's" cum "Nandos" style dinner plate for the 5 of us.

I was a bit shy to do the cooking as I'm really nervous of how they might react when they see and consume the "product" that we made. Though I'm cooking daily for all of us, this occasion really puts the stress out and the worst of all, the BLOODY Oven broke at this very important time!!

So, instead of the well-planned baked chicken, I end up microwaving the marinated chicken for 10 minutes then pan fry it for 10 minutes again!!!& my original baked vegetables turn into a quick stiry fry!! Sweat!!

But the end product comes out nice! Though hubby & I did not "see" how his mom ( my mom-in-law) really feel deep inside, we did, however, saw a glimpse of smile and appreciation while enjoying her dinner.

I guess, there are just so many ways to say "I Love You" or a "Thank You" or that "I Care" to our loved ones! Sometimes, we just need to put on our thinking hat and little imaginations..

The "Kenny Rogers" or "Nandos" outside might taste better, but our home made dinner meant alot for all of us. For hubby & I, it means spending 4 worthy hours together in the kitchen. Its another type of bonding and love shared!!!!
